Hridayam movie review: A nostalgic presentation of a romantic tale with a bundle of overwhelming emotions.
Plot Synopsis
Reflection of past and present scenario of a person who changes from his youth to adulthood where time plays the ultimate essence in describing the chemistry during his college days undergoing some major challenges that help evolve the character into something beautiful and spectacular.
1) Music and Sound engineering
A topic that has been trending throughout social media before the release of the film or its trailer is the audio jukebox where every single song has been outdone with a golden touch of mastery composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab with singers such as Darshana, Vineeth, Prithviraj, K.S. Chitra, Job Kurian and more. Moreover, a total of 15 soundtracks with its best quality assurance during the 3-hour duration of the film is something that truly holds the movie straight to its roots.
2) Story Analysis
The story has been crafted in such a manner that you feel like been hit by a wave of nostalgic experience with a complete package of vivid imagination and soul-stirring moments, communicating a basic story with some cliche narrative managing to bring joy and sorrow within separate frames. The movie also holds a perfect magical balance when it comes to its editing and cinematography by Ranjan Abraham and Viswajith Odukkathil where the audience instantly builds a connection with the character as the story moves along.
3)Cast performance
Director Vineeth Sreenivasan has always been experimental with his movie delivery right from the cast, music, sentiments, audience attention, and much more. His current movie Hridayam also exhibits in expanding the character's artistic level highly towards Pranav Mohanlal as the movie wholly revolves around his transformation which can take you back to the "good old days" and the memories tied deep within yourself. Kalyani Priyadarshan's performance stood delightful and similar to her previous blockbuster film Varane Avashyamund (2020). The only character who I felt connected all the dots right from the start to the finish making it seem so terrific and graceful is Darshana Rajendran's performance, something that would remain close to everyone's heart. Moreover, other actors like Aswath Lal as "Antony Thadikaran" and Kalesh Ramanand as "Selva" have done an exceptional role in delivering some of the best emotional moments within the film.
4) Viewer's expectation
Hridayam is a movie where the plot tests the actor's strengths and delivers into its brightest form followed by a musical space like Eden abundant with many emotions and mesmerizing memories. The genre of the movie highly resembled some of the former hit movies like "Classmates (2006)" and "Thattathin Marayathu (2012)". A family-focused drama film in which every member of the family can come together and be pleased by its overall output.
Conclusion
A highly recommended film specially to be watched in theatres if you want to experience what a true nostalgic film looks like.
